Nick Foles will be sporting black and teal colors in 2019

While Jaguars Expect To Sign Nick Foles, Blake Bortles' Future Is Uncertain

It looks like Nick Foles will be sporting black and teal colors in 2019.  According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rappaport, the 30-year-old is expected to ink a four-year, $88 million deal with $50 million guaranteed.  NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo said on Monday that Foles could make up to $102 million with incentives. The official start of the NFL 2019 League Year begins on Wednesday.
The Eagles exercised the team option on Foles last month and he opted out of his contract by  paying the team $2 million. Philadelphia did not give Foles the franchise-tag. Meanwhile there is speculation that the Jaguars could release quarterback Blake Bortles when they sign Foles. Bortles is due to receive a $1 million dollar bonus on March 19, 2019. Rappaport said in a tweet on Monday that Bortles would be let go.

Fingers were pointed at Bortles throughout the 2018 season when he struggled to get the Jaguars into the win column. The offense sputtered and Bortles took plenty of blame along with former Jaguars offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett who was fired during the season. Bortles signed a three-year $54 million contract with the Jaguars on February 24, 2018 according to Spotrac.com, including a $15 million signing bonus, $26.5 million guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $18 million. In 2019, also according to Spotrac.com, Bortles is due to earn a base salary of $14 million along with his roster bonus of $1 million dollars. He is guaranteed $6.5 million this year. Bortles reportedly told CBS Sports in January he did not envision that he would be back for the 2019 season.
On March 8th, the Jaguars cleared salary cap space by announcing the release of seventh year safety Tashaun Gipson Sr., fifth-year running back Carlos Hyde, seventh-year defensive tackle Malik Jackson along with ninth-year right tackle Jermey Parnell and six-year long snapper Carson Tinker. Jackson reportedly will be moving on to Philadelphia and signing a three-year, $30 million deal with Philadelphia. According to Spotrac.com he will receive an annual salary of $10 million dollars.
Foles would be reunited with current Jaguars offensive coordinator John Defilippo who was the quarterbacks’ coach for the Eagles when they won the Super Bowl in 2017.
